30 year old curtains – the next big thing?
Makeover of a 30-year-old house
A 30-year-old house gets a facelift – new paint, new carpet. Let’s keep the curtains! This is a job we did in the late eighties, using an elaborately embroidered voile fabric out of Spain or Italy. Such fabrics were in demand at the time and very affordable because Australian wholesalers were importing them in bulk.
Protected from the Australian sun by linings on separate tracks behind the curtains, and maybe laundered every 10 years, they look great, after 30 years. Could this be the next retro fashion move in soft furnishings?
This photo was taken after we installed the third set of new linings.
